We love pencils! All guests are permitted to take notes and make sketches in the galleries using pencils. We only ask that you do not photograph any security equipment, emergency exits, or staff members without consent. Photos are welcome in the museum! Just please turn off your flash and put away your tripods, selfie sticks, stabilizers, gimbals, or any equipment that extends the reach of your camera.

Monique was born and raised in Chicago, lived and worked as an artist in Venice, CA for over a decade and currently lives in Peekskill, NY.The Museum of Contemporary Art is committed to making the experience of art accessible. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Business Improvement District in Peekskill, NY. In addition, she served of the Board of Directors of the MOCA Contemporaries in Los Angeles from 2011-2013. Monique is a member of the American Society of Media Photographers, American Photographic Artists, Advertising Photographers of America, Press Photographers Association of Greater Los Angeles, Center for Fine Art Photography, Peekskill Arts Alliance, Rowayton Arts Center, Stamford Artists Association, Greenwich Arts Council and the Greenwich Art Society. Monique’s fine art imagery has been exhibited in both solo and group shows at the MOCA / Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, Center for Fine Art Photography, Fort Collins, CO, South East Center for Photography, Greenville, SC, Anderson Chase Gallery, Katonah, NY, Bendheim Gallery and Flinn Gallery, Greenwich, CT. Her fine art photography work favors medium format film and is often printed by hand using gum bichromate, a 19th century multi-layered printing process, rendering painterly images from photographic negatives. She draws her inspiration for painting and collage from Mary Corse, Pat Steir, Lee Krasner, Richard Dibenkorn and Kurt Schwitters. Her photography is inspired by Henri Cartier-Bresson, Peter Lindbergh, Melvin Sokolski, and Anita Bresser. She is an award winning photographer and regular contributor to The New Yorker, Manhattan, Angeleno, C, Los Angeles, and Pasadena Magazines.
